Don't waste your time, tell me, whats the use of you blogging? - Dad
This was the reaction I got when I suggested I might start a blog of my own. Well, the old man does have a point. How will blogging help a 3rd year medical student, with his thesis and busy schedule? Times like this really irritate me, because I have to agree with him. So I began asking myself, whats the use of me blogging? How will blogging benefit me in any way? Why am I even considering this?
After googling for answers and asking around, the answer is simple. It's a skill. In what sense? Just like facebook, twitter, music and sports, blogging helps in developing a wholesome person, not only in terms of language proficiency (p.s, posts will only be in English) but also as an avenue for a developing adult (Me!) to spend time evaluating, reasoning and rationalizing events, happenings, news, views and matters close to the heart.
Besides, I'd be able to connect with other bloggers and create a sphere of influence of my own, which might come in handy later. ;) Right now, it feels as if I'm speaking to myself, and yes, I am doing that at the moment. LOL. In time things will change, God willing.
In short, blogging will be an experience by itself. We'll see how things go by and by. In the good ole' words of William Shakespeare; 'Experience is by industry achieved, and perfected by the swift course of time'.
Good day folks, cheers !
